A Darjeeling-born filmmaker studied at the FTII, India. His debut short, Ek Dhakar Jiwan, won the Best Short Film Peace Award at the Gothenburg Independent Film Festival and a Special Mention of the Jury International Competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.

A postgraduate in American Literature from NBU, discovered a love for cinema and literature while at St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling. With almost 2 decades dedicated to teaching communication skills at a diploma engineering college in Sikkim, Jyoti’s passion for cinema led to co-founding Ferry Tale Pictures, focusing on regional filmmaking, including the upcoming Nepali film “Jaar.” Jyoti is also a co-founder of LA-7 Shorts, dedicated to experimental filmmaking, and a member of the Indigenous Film Collective, creating short films based on Nepali literature for community outreach and engagement. Beyond professional achievements, Jyoti’s journey in literature and cinema is a heartfelt exploration of storytelling and cultural connection.

Neeraj Rai born and brought up in Darjeeling whose academic journey culminated in a postgraduate degree from North Bengal University. His professional career began in the challenging yet rewarding field of engineering services. After many years of dedicated service, he honed his skills and technical prowess in problem-solving and teamwork. Later he made a significant career transition to film making where he co-founded Ferry Tale Pictures.

At Ferry Tale Pictures, Neeraj Rai brings a unique blend of technical expertise and creative vision to the table. His background instilled in him a meticulous attention to detail and disciplined work ethic, ensuring that every aspect of production is meticulously planned and executed. Simultaneously, his passion for filmmaking fuels his imagination, pushing boundaries and whose skills have been of invaluable assets to the craft.

A professional with a rich background in both IT and the entertainment industry. With a solid IT qualification and nearly 8 years of hands-on experience working with Ferry Tale Pictures,  As a freelancer, Pema’s versatility shines through as a line producer, adept at coordinating and managing various aspects of film production. Notably, Pema has contributed to numerous features, documentaries, and short films showcasing talents not only as a producer but also as an actor. With a unique blend of technical expertise and creative flair, Pema Rinzing Lepcha brings a wealth of skills and experience to any project, ensuring both efficiency and excellence in execution.

An alumna of the Film and Television Institute of India, embarked on her journey studying animation films. Beginning her career in Mumbai, she honed her skills as a pre-production artist and visual designer, contributing to various advertisements, films, and e-learning projects. Eventually, she became one of the founding members of Ferry Tale Pictures. In her role at Jaar, she delved into all creative processes, serving as both an Executive Producer and Visual Effects Producer she has always showcased her diverse talents and commitment to the craft.

A multifaceted professional with a passion for both education and creative endeavors. With a stint in Delhi’s bustling BPO sector spanning four years, Habib gained invaluable experience in the corporate realm. However, his heart remained tethered to his roots, leading him back to Nepal, where he found his calling in the field of education. Later in Kurseong, Habib assumed the role of a Bursar at St. Anthony’s School, where he managed financial affairs with precision and dedication. Parallel to his administrative duties, Habib embarked on a creative venture in 2014, where he co-founded Ferry Tale Pictures, a pioneering initiative aimed at producing Nepali independent films in Darjeeling. As an administrative founder member, Habib brings to the table a unique blend of financial acumen and creative insight. His role encompasses not only managing finances but also offering invaluable support and innovative suggestions to ensure each project resonates with the ethos and culture of the Nepali people in a distinctive manner.

Trilochan Pandey

Head of Marketing/PR and Sponsorship

Trilochan Pandey brings over two decades of rich experience in program management and strategic development across several national and international organizations such as Greenpeace, The Mountain Institute, and the Right to Food Campaign. With a proven track record of pioneering campaigns and fostering partnerships, he is transitioning from roles in policy and direct action, including his work with Control Arms and academic contributions at the School for International Training, he is set to embark on a new journey in the entertainment industry. As the Head of Marketing, PR, and Sponsorship at Ferry Tale Pictures, Trilochan will leverage his experience in communication and network cultivation to innovate and expand the company’s outreach and brand influence.
